a studio of
sullivan’s island downtown master plan
about the project
urban edge studio, with the help of LS3p architects and Kimley Horn traffic engineering, led a week long public charrette for the town of Sullivan’s Island, to help solve many of the conflicts between a successful commercial district and its surrounding residents.
Proposed solutions included a new commercial streetscape to maximize on-street parking, residential parking permits on residential streets, turn arounds to keep commercial traffic on the commercial main street, a golf cart parking area for residents, restaurant service reconfiguration, and a new amphitheater.
